Working at Alight brought new perspective into working in house as a designer. It gave me experience and knowledge in working with formal agile squads as well as a transitioning team from waterfall to agile. While I was a part of the team, I led new designs for the wealth section of Alight’s business. I worked closely with the stakeholders to understand product requirements, development limitations and a changing design system. Part of my responsibility on the design team was to create onboarding materials and lead new designers through their first months on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Led new projects in collaboration with a business owner and stakeholders to develop new features for the internal website.
Established and maintained the design system and the processes around by adding, editing and removing elements.
Communicated design decisions, through user centered lenses, clearly to all parties.
Created new products and product features that streamlined business functions.
Followed new and improved product process through define, ideate, low fidelity, high fidelity, pre-development handoff, and ticket writing.
Consulted on product marketing initiatives around landing pages and copy.
Major Contributions:
Product lead for navigation of administration website. Developed hierarchy, wireframes, low fidelity and high fidelity version of navigation using the side menu. Proposed three project plans for implementation: MVP - which could be implemented without interrupting user flow and allow for slow adoption, Phase 2- more sub layers for navigation which required more adoption, Phase 3- total revamp of navigation including landing page, flexibility for users & total adoption.
Shopify API product designer for micro market business arm. Designed new UI for existing inventory centers and integrated a new feature that allowed data to connect with Shopify.
Procurement product lead with an emphasis on dealing with “exceptions” particularly distributor created exceptions. Focused on purchase orders and streamlined the ordering process to unveil an understanding of what went wrong and where in our supply chain.
